Range Of "CANT" Adjustment For Flat Bracket

|
The bracket can be mounted CANTED if
necessary, then tweaked with the screw adjustment.
A small piece of the double sided tape should be inserted between the
two pieces before installing the screw.
This insures the final adjustment stays put once the screw is
tightened.
If you are concerned about the security of the adjustment, you can
always place a small drop of super glue on the edge. Just a small drop,
that can be cracked apart if needed.

Aperture:
O.D. - 1.25" height X 0.75" wide
I.D. - 1" height X 0.50" wide (not counting the cross bars).
The view side is painted "White" in color, and has a "Glow In The
Dark" coating over the white. The glow in the dark coating has to be
charged with light (either sunlight, or flashlight) to work, and will
glow for 4 - 8 hours depending on conditions.
Bracket:
The Angle Bracket is designed to be mounted in the site widow, if
there is enough height on the riser to allow it. The length of the
bracket can be trimmed to accommodate your specific needs if
necessary.
The Flat Bracket is designed to be mounted on either the belly, or the
back of the riser. Can be angle mounted to accommodate CANT, and
tweaked with the screw adjustment. The length of the
bracket can be trimmed to accommodate your specific needs if
necessary.
Length - 4"
Width - .375"
Double bolt aperture mount.
Aperture mount slot - 1.25" long, with 1.0625" of windage adjustment.
Elevation is initially adjusted by the height of the mount, and can adjusted afterward with the bolts for another
3/8" of micro adjustment.
"CANT" accommodation should be set as much as possible in the mounting
of the bracket, then micro adjusted with the adjustment screw if
necessary.
Windage is adjusted by loosening the screws, and sliding the
aperture left/right to the position needed
It is designed to be mounted underneath the strike plate, or handle
wrap material, with the amount of bracket outside those materials
secured with the double sided tape.
When modifying the brackets for your specific needs, just be sure to
leave enough bracket for a secure mount.
It is completely universal for left, or right hand.
See Mounting Examples Below.
Example One -
Recurve:
|
|
Shown here mounted under the strike plate material in the sight window of a Cut Past Center
recurve, and adjusted to center the arrow shaft.
Double Sided Tape
was used to secure the portion of the bracket above the strike plate.
This sight has not had final sight
in adjustment.
Example is for mounting demonstration only. |
Example Two - Longbow:
|
|
Shown here mounted under the
handle wrap of the
back of a cut outside center Hill Style longbow, adjusted
approximately for a 15 degree cant, and adjusted to center the
arrow shaft.
Double sided tape was used to secure the amount of bracket above the handle
wrap.
Be sure to cover the head of the "cant adjustment bolt" with a piece of the double sided tape when mounting.
This will keep it from scratching the bow.
This sight has not
had final sight in adjustment.
Example is for mounting demonstration only.

How To Use
You adjust your initial
elevation, by mounting the sight height as close as you can to
give you a point on/zero at the side bars for the distance you
desire, then use the micro tune slots/bolts of the aperture to
fine tune the elevation needed.
Once attached to the bow for
the desired elevation, you then adjust the aperture left/right,
where when looking through it at center, your arrow is hitting
center of left/right - windage.
TIP: Marking the bracket
at the aperture sides with a pencil, will help you to maintain
your windage adjustment while fine tuning your elevation
adjustment.
The above picture is a mock up of
a sight adjusted for a 15 yard point on at the side bars, and
depending on your arrow trajectory, what it might look like to use
it for shorter, or longer distances.
Obviously you would need to
learn your trajectory, and map the aperture in your mind for
distances varying from your zero.
NOTE: This sight most
likely will not work for those who use a very low (at, or under
the chin) anchor.
It works best for those who anchor with the arrow closer to their
eyes. Example: Index finger at corner of mouth.
